This stretches the sides of the ribcage while also opening up the muscles in the armpits, which have a tendency to become very tight
- Stand with feet hip-width apart. Pull your navel into your spine, drop your tailbone, and bend your knees slightly. Raise your right arm, and stretch up as if your middle finger is being pulled toward the sky.
- Lean to the left, pulling the left arm downward at your side, as if your middle finger is being pulled toward the floor. Feel the stretch in the right side of your ribcage. Hold for 4 breath cycles., then repeat on the other side.
